Bear lost his fight Dec. 30 for a second chance at life.  He had been starved and lived in such horrid conditions for so long, he just couldn't recover, despite the best medical care and rescue volunteers.  We all mourn his passing.  His foster mom writes:  He is at rest now playing with friends, no more pain, just tears from those he left behind. He touched the heart of all who knew him. RIP my sweet baby.

THE RAINBOW BRIDGE:  Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent.
His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you

look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

:  Dear Guardian Angels, to everyone who helped me out of the house of horrors I give you huge sloppy kisses. I am still not feeling very well but much happier. I spent the first night in a huge house with lots of straw. I was having a great sleep except every couple hours I would be wakened with mum checking I was warm enough.!  Last night I got lever, I see everyone going in to a HUGE house and not me. I went in a few times but got scared and ran out. I decided I want in as felt
so warm and my new friends were going in and out. So I walked in and sat down. Mum gave me a lovely soft blanket so I thought ok I am really tired maybe stay a few more minutes. I had my dinner earlier so felt sleepy. I have never slept so well until mum drags us all out to go potty in the middle of the night, (mum here, it was 5am) I got to go back to bed until she dragged me , literally had to push me off my bed to go for a walk.......(mum again 7.30am, this boy loves to rest)

What does a poor skinny dog have to do to get a decent nights sleep I don't know!!
Once we were out tho it was fun. Came here yesterday also but I was too scared to notice smells or anything. This morning tho it was FUN. Shilo showed me how to dig for gophers, Tasha showed me all the smelly stuff. Bridgitt doesn't like me, she ignores me as if I am invisible!!
Jeesh what a little prima donna. Angus growls at me if I so much as look at him but he has been nice to me and took me around a bit yesterday.
We have HUGE furry creatures here, I wont go near them. I sniffed one last night when he wasn't looking. The girls say they are horses and they are our friends. To be careful tho as they are heavy.
I am spending the day on the deck with my friends. We can go into houses if cold and we have plenty fresh water at all times. I cant believe how nice it is here and I don't think about the "bad" place any more.

I have sore joints when I try to get up. Mum says I may need something like glucosamine when I am a bit stronger. The girls tell me I smell really bad so I hear I have to have a bath to-night!!! Hope that's fun!
I am happy, mum took pictures you will all see to-morrow of me, in my new home with my new friends. My heart hurts that I had to leave so many of my friends behind. I hope they have a nice bed and homes soon. I will go nap now that mums at work maybe I can catch some uninterrupted sleep. Mum tells me I am a beautiful boy, I get lots of cuddles. Please tell all my friends I miss them but this is better for us all.
So to all of my saviors . thank you from the bottom of my doggie heart, doggie kisses and lots of doggie loves.
Bear xxxxxx
