Meet Balto. He is about two years old . His shelter assessment has really good numbers but also the comment: Needs training. our volunteer found that he is relatively calm considering his youth and loves to cuddle (He thinks he’s a 60# lapdog). But he also told us one other thing: He is NOT a friend of kennels.

Like all self-respecting huskies, he needs a secure fence – 6’ high and dig proof at the bottom. Siberians are great Houdinis and most have a keen prey drive – so small critters, incl. smaller dogs and, of course, cats, chickens, ducks may not be safe.  In return they will reward you with endless entertainment with their antics. Of course, they should always be on leash when outside their secure perimeter. Children should preferably be 8 years old or up so they don’t knock them over in their enthusiasm for life.

As with all animals on this web site, adoptions to approved homes only and animals must be spayed or neutered. Availability of an animal is subject to change without notice.
Please note: Descriptions of the dogs (including evaluation and temperament) listed are furnished by rescuers and other sources. We are providing an exchange of information only and are not always able to verify the information and as such you should verify the information yourself.
